2026 Pond Tour - West

Saturday, April 25 2026, 9AM-4PM

Locations shown on this map are approximate. The entries below show full addresses and have map links.

1. Tanya & Ian - Phoenix

3308 W Quail Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85027

Welcome to our DIY adventure! Eighteen months into the build and we’re still working to make it just right.

The pond holds about 8,200 gallons, is 14.6’ X 14.6’ and more than 5’ deep with straight sides and an aerated bottom drain.  The drain and skimmer feed water through a settlement tank, then to a bead filter, then returns to the waterfall that cascades back into the pond.  We love the soft sound that the water makes trickling over the rocks.

Our pond is home to a variety of goldfish, high-fin sharks and koi. The waterfall wall gives us an area to grow plants and a place for birds to get a refreshing drink.

Cross streets: N. 35th Ave. & W. Quail Ave.

2. Alan & Molly - Glendale

5331 W Willow Ave, Glendale, AZ 85304

We have two ponds in our back yard. Pond #1 is 750 gallons with an aqua bead filter, skimmer, 4500-gallon pump turning the water over. #2 pond is 4300 gallons, 16ft x 10ft wide, 4 ft deep, it has a bottom drain, helix skimmer, aqua II 6000 bead filter, 120-watt UV light, & a 7900-gallon pump.

Both ponds have Japanese koi in them. Some of the fish in the ponds travel with me to koi shows where I have won numerous awards. They are real beauties!

Cross streets: 51st Avenue and Thunderbird Road

3. Alexander - Peoria

7726 W Cheryl Dr, Peoria, AZ 85345

This is our beachfront property in Arizona. Built by Arizona Living Waterscapes in February 2026, it has 12 color changing path lights, 16 color changing underwater lights, over 20 unique waterfalls, 2 bubbling boulders, one fire boulder, 5 locally harvested pieces of dense hardwood pieces, it is was built with 16 tons of charcoal boulders and 2 tons of Augusta White bunker sand. It has a 12x5 foot dry beach zone and an 11x8 foot sand bottom wading area about 6 inches deep. Two variable speed Aquascape smart 4-8 thousand gph pumps can be controlled by phone and either adjusted or turned off at the touch of a button. The entire feature will drain dry in 35 min and the 1200 gallon reservoir will store all the water under the beach and out of sight. It fills back up in about 2 min. We enjoy hosting beach parties and watching our daughter, our neighbor’s children, and all our friends kids interact with the water, build sand castles, dig holes, and all the joy this feature has brought our home and our neighborhood.

4. Doug & Claudia - Buckeye

4939 N Grandview Dr, Buckeye, AZ 85396

The pond began construction in October 2017.  For the better part of 7 weeks a 3-man crew worked to place each of the locally sourced rocks by hand, lay pavers and flagstone, install lights, and landscape the backyard.  We started with 8 adult Koi, added a pair of Red-Eared Sliders (Turtles) and now have many beautiful Koi and 4 adult and 4 baby turtles.  We recently added a new feature.  A 2,000 lb. onyx rock from the Grand Canyon.  This rock features natural geode openings (A geode is a hollow rock with minerals or crystals inside) one in the shape of a fish and has a water cascade from the top. We enjoy the beauty and serenity of nature that a Koi Pond offers just a few steps out our back slider.

Cross streets: Verrado Way & Victory Blvd.

AZ Water Garden Oasis (azwatergardenoasis.com)

Welcome to our Urban Farm.  We employ organic permaculture methods in raising our pond plants and food production (i.e.- vegetables, fruit trees, tilapia and chickens).  We specialize in using our ponds to grow vegetables as soil-less aquaponic gardens.

Home to AZ Water Garden Oasis, the property features several ponds featuring both fish and water plants.  There is also a wide variety of water plants available for purchase, and also an amazing permaculture display, complete with old-fashioned roses, annual and perennial flowers and a chicken coop.

We carry over 200 varieties including water lilies, canna lilies, water iris, water lettuce, duckweed, various types of reeds, water poppies and MUCH more.  We also have goldfish, mosquito fish, koi, guppies and tadpoles. And lots of friendly, free advice to help you get started.
